Additional Director General (Forensics)
About the Role
The Punjab Forensic Science Authority (PFSA), Home Department, Government of the Punjab invites applications for the executive leadership position of Additional Director General (Forensics) on Special Pay Package. The role oversees state-of-the-art forensic analysis, crime scene units, and expert court testimony.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct technical and administrative operations of 14 specialized forensic science disciplines across PFSA laboratories.
- Oversee scientific evidence processing in DNA & Serology, Forensic Toxicology, Ballistics, Questioned Documents, and Digital Forensics.
- Ensure all laboratory examination protocols conform strictly to ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation standards and international forensic guidelines.
- Supervise Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) satellite stations across Punjab divisions, optimizing response times to major criminal incidents.
- Provide high-level scientific consultations to superior judiciary, joint investigation teams (JITs), and law enforcement leadership.
- Direct continuous professional forensic training programs and lead research in emerging forensic analytical technologies.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master's degree (18 years) in Forensic Sciences, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Toxicology, or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of professional scientific experience, including at least 8–10 years in senior forensic laboratory administration.
- Recognized expertise in forensic evidence interpretation, chain of custody, and expert court testimony in superior courts.
- Demonstrated leadership managing accredited multidisciplinary forensic laboratories and large scientific teams.
- Domicile of Punjab Province and clean background record.
Preferred Qualifications
- International forensic experience or certification by recognized bodies (e.g. ABC, FSF, AAFS).
- Extensive record of forensic research publications in indexed international science journals.
