Assistant Apparel Fashion Designer
About the Role
Kamal Textile Mills (Pvt) Ltd is recruiting an Assistant Apparel Fashion Designer for its Knits Apparel Division in Faisalabad. The designer creates apparel sketches, tech packs, mood boards, and supports garment sampling for international fashion buyers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative fashion design concepts, flat sketches, and mood presentation boards for seasonal knitwear collections.
- Create detailed technical design packs (Tech Packs) specifying garment measurements, stitching details, and fabric specs.
- Collaborate with the sampling department to oversee proto-sample development, fit trials, and pattern revisions.
- Source fabrics, trims, embellishments, and print artworks in alignment with international buyer aesthetic guidelines.
- Research global fashion trends, Pantone color forecasts, and competitor garment silhouettes.
- Coordinate with merchandising and marketing teams for buyer presentations and seasonal line showcases.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or Apparel Manufacturing from a recognized design institute (PIFD, NCA, BNU).
- 1–3 years of design experience in knitwear apparel manufacturing and garment export houses.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and CAD fashion illustration tools.
- Good technical understanding of knit fabric structures, washes, dyeing methods, and garment fitting.
- Creative artistic sensibility, eye for detail, and strong visual presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Portfolio showcasing contemporary men's and women's knitwear designs.
- Experience handling export buyers in Europe and the United States.
