Assistant Manager – Denim Washing & Product Development
About the Role
Ombre Apparel (Pvt) Ltd is hiring an Assistant Manager – Washing for its Product Development (PD/DND) Division at Ombre Apparel Park on Manga Raiwind Road, Lahore. The professional will supervise denim wash recipes, chemical dosing, laser/ozone finishes, and ensure bulk production matches international buyer standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily industrial denim washing operations, ensuring bulk execution matches approved development wash standards.
- Develop and optimize innovative sustainable wash recipes including enzyme washes, ozone treatment, bleaching, and tinting.
- Control chemical dosing precision, bath ratios, temperatures, and cycle times to achieve uniform shade continuity across lots.
- Troubleshoot garment wash defects, shade variations, and fabric strength losses in coordination with QA and laundry teams.
- Enforce compliance with international buyer chemical restrictions (ZDHC), water conservation, and eco-friendly laundry practices.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field.
- 4 to 5 years of progressive experience in denim laundry operations and product development within an export apparel unit.
- Deep technical understanding of denim wash chemistry, dry processes, wet processes, and fabric behavior.
- Proven capability in recipe formulation, shade matching, and customer sample approvals.
- Strong supervisory skills, operational discipline, and production schedule management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with modern sustainable laundry machinery (Jeanologia e-flow, ozone washers, laser scraping).
- Prior experience working with leading global denim brands (Levi's, H&M, Zara, Pull&Bear).
