Assistant Manager – Taxation
About the Role
Hascol Petroleum Limited is hiring an Assistant Manager Taxation based at its Head Office in Karachi. The role manages corporate income tax, sales tax returns, statutory FBR notices, and tax efficiency strategies for the oil marketing company.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the monthly preparation and submission of withholding tax statements under the Income Tax Ordinance.
- Manage timely finalization and e-filing of federal and provincial sales tax returns (FBR, SRB, PRA, BRA, KPRA).
- Draft comprehensive responses to show-cause notices and audit queries issued by taxation authorities.
- Assist corporate tax counsel in preparing appeal documents and defending contentious assessments before appellate tribunals.
- Analyze changes in fiscal statutes (Finance Act) to identify tax savings, Petroleum Levy impacts, and compliance risks.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- ACCA / CA / CMA Finalist or Member.
- 3 to 5 years of dedicated corporate taxation experience, preferably within an Oil Marketing Company (OMC), energy firm, or Big 4 audit firm.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001, Sales Tax Act 1990, and provincial revenue authority rules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience managing sales tax refund processing and downstream petroleum distribution taxation.
