Associate Professor – Software Engineering
About the Role
Foundation University School of Science & Technology invites applications for the senior faculty position of Associate Professor in Software Engineering at its Islamabad Campus. The professor will direct advanced computing courses, lead departmental research grants, and mentor postgraduate MS and PhD students.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Software Architecture, Distributed Systems, and AI Engineering.
- Lead high-impact research projects and secure external research grants from national and international funding bodies (HEC, Ignite).
- Supervise MS and PhD research theses, dissertations, and capstone software development projects.
- Publish scholarly articles in HEC-recognized W/X category indexed impact factor journals.
- Participate actively in departmental academic governance, Outcome-Based Education (OBE) accreditation, and curriculum updates.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field from an HEC-recognized national or foreign university.
- Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience in an HEC-recognized university, or 5 years post-PhD teaching experience.
- At least 10 research publications in HEC-recognized impact factor journals as per HEC appointment criteria.
- Exemplary research record, demonstrated doctoral student mentorship, and academic leadership.
- Strong command of modern software engineering methodologies, cloud computing, and machine learning architectures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in industrial commercialization of university software research.
- Experience leading NCEAC or Washington Accord OBE accreditation committees.
