Audit Officer (Foreign Currency Exchange)
About the Role
MCB Exchange is seeking an Audit Officer (Internal Audit - Foreign Currency Exchange Business) based in Rawalpindi / Islamabad. The auditor conducts branch audits, foreign currency cash verifications, and enforces SBP foreign exchange regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct periodic and surprise internal audits across foreign exchange currency branches in the northern region.
- Verify physical foreign currency balances, cash safe registers, and exchange transactions against system blotters.
- Ensure branch operations comply rigorously with State Bank of Pakistan Foreign Exchange Regulations and AML/CFT guidelines.
- Examine customer identification documents, biometric verifications, and reporting of high-value foreign currency transactions.
- Draft concise internal audit reports highlighting procedural lapses, compliance gaps, and internal control weaknesses.
- Follow up on audit rectification actions and verify branch compliance during subsequent audit cycles.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- B.Com, BBA (Finance), or Master's in Commerce / Accounting from an accredited university.
- 2–4 years of internal audit or branch operations experience in an exchange company or commercial bank.
- Sound understanding of SBP FE Manual, foreign currency trading rules, and AML/CFT compliance standards.
- Strong analytical ability, high personal integrity, and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Willingness to conduct regular branch audit visits across the region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Part-qualified CA Inter, ACCA, or CIA.
- Experience in foreign exchange retail branch operations.
