Compliance Officer (AML / CFT / SBP Reporting)
About the Role
AL Habib Exchange Company is hiring a Compliance Officer based at its Head Office in Karachi. The role manages Anti-Money Laundering (AML/CFT) frameworks, Transaction Monitoring Systems (TMS), and State Bank of Pakistan statutory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform real-time surveillance of cross-border foreign currency remittances and cash transactions via TMS to detect suspicious financial behavior.
- Ensure compliance with SBP regulations, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and CPF directives.
- Draft, review, and file mandatory statutory returns (daily, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, and annual) with the State Bank of Pakistan and FMU.
- Conduct periodic compliance spot-audits across exchange company branches and franchise locations.
- Assist in updating company compliance manuals and delivering staff awareness sessions on KYC/CDD obligations.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, or Law.
- 2+ years of relevant compliance or internal audit experience in an exchange company or commercial bank.
- In-depth comprehension of SBP Foreign Exchange Manual and Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU) reporting guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or related regulatory credentials.
