Cost Controller (Factory Costing & Financial Analysis)
About the Role
Ismail Industries Limited (manufacturers of Candyland and Bisconni) is hiring a Cost Controller for its manufacturing operations in Karachi / Hub. The cost controller will manage factory costing, SAP Product Costing (CO-PC), material usage variance analysis, inventory valuation, and manufacturing financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and audit Bills of Materials (BOMs), routing structures, standard cost estimates, and factory overhead rates in SAP CO-PC.
- Lead factory-level month-end closing, calculating Work-in-Progress (WIP) valuations, cost allocations, and production variance postings.
- Perform weekly variance analysis on material consumption, recipe adherence, line yield losses, scrap rates, and purchase prices.
- Supervise periodic cycle counts and annual stock audits for raw materials, packaging supplies, finished goods, and engineering spares.
- Conduct capital expenditure feasibility appraisals (NPV, IRR, payback) for factory automation and line expansion projects.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- CA / ACCA / CIMA / ICMAP qualified OR Master's / MBA in Finance from an HEC-recognized university.
- 6 to 8 years of solid cost accounting and financial planning experience in a large-scale manufacturing enterprise.
- Advanced hands-on expertise in SAP ERP, specifically CO-PC (Product Costing), CO-PA (Profitability Analysis), and MM modules.
- Exceptional command of MS Excel for translating manufacturing plant metrics (OEE, yield, line speed) into P&L insights.
- Strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and factory internal control enforcement abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior factory costing experience in FMCG confectionery, biscuits, or food processing industries.
- Experience partnering with Lean / Six Sigma teams on waste reduction and energy efficiency initiatives.
