About the Role
The Office of the Chief Engineer Sukkur Barrage Left Bank Region, Sindh Irrigation Department, invites applications for Data Processing Assistant (BPS-12) to manage canal discharge data and barrage IT databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Process daily river discharge data, canal gauge readings, and barrage water distribution telemetry records
- Maintain departmental digital databases, hydrological archives, and electronic case records
- Generate daily hydrological balance sheets, water distribution statements, and monthly canal withdrawal summaries
- Provide hardware and software assistance to divisional engineering offices and manage local network connectivity
- Assist divisional executive engineers with electronic file management and official correspondence drafting
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / IT (or equivalent) from an HEC-recognized university, or DIT with graduation
- At least 1 year of professional experience as a Data Processing Assistant or database operator
- Fast and accurate Urdu and English computer typing speed with mastery of MS Excel and MS Word
- Age Limit: 18 to 28 years
- Domicile and PRC of District Sukkur
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with water management databases, GIS data entry, or public sector IT systems
