About the Role
Pakistan Single Window (PSW), operating entity under Pakistan Customs / Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), is hiring a Data Protection Officer (DPO) at its regional office in Karachi. The DPO will champion data privacy frameworks, cross-border trade data governance, regulatory compliance, and personal data protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate, implement, and maintain enterprise data privacy and personal data protection policies across the PSW national platform.
- Monitor compliance with Pakistani data governance regulations, international cross-border data transfer protocols, and ISO 27701 standards.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) on automated customs clearance, transit trade, and inter-agency data sharing modules.
- Serve as primary liaison for data subjects, regulatory bodies, and government ministries on data privacy matters.
- Design organizational privacy training programs, breach response procedures, and audit internal processing logs.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems from an HEC-recognized university.
- 6 to 10 years of professional experience in data governance, regulatory compliance, legal advisory, or information security.
- Deep practical understanding of data protection frameworks (e.g., GDPR, National Data Protection laws, ISO 27001/27701).
- Superior analytical, stakeholder management, and policy documentation capabilities.
- Flawless professional integrity and commitment to national trade data confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E, CIPM, or CDPSE).
- Prior experience in public sector e-governance systems, customs single windows, or international trade facilitation.
