Deputy Manager Procurement
About the Role
Hi-Tech Machinery is hiring a Deputy Manager Procurement at its Head Office in Lahore. The position oversees technical procurement, machinery spare parts, local and foreign vendor development, and commercial contract negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct procurement of industrial machinery components, mechanical spares, electrical switchgear, and raw materials.
- Manage strategic sourcing from local manufacturers and foreign equipment suppliers (China, Europe, Taiwan).
- Negotiate commercial prices, delivery terms, Incoterms, and payment terms to achieve maximum cost savings.
- Process commercial letters of credit (LC), import documentation, customs clearance, and freight forwarding.
- Evaluate vendor performance scorecards, lead times, and product quality standards.
- Ensure disciplined adherence to corporate purchasing policies, purchase orders (PO), and ERP inventory tracking.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or MBA.
- 5–8 years of technical procurement and commercial sourcing experience in machinery, engineering, or industrial equipment sectors.
- Deep knowledge of engineering technical specifications, machinery parts, and foreign import regulations.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills and experience handling bank letters of credit.
- Proficiency in procurement ERP software and MS Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience sourcing heavy industrial or textile machinery spares.
- Professional procurement diploma (CIPS or equivalent).
