Electronics & PCB Design Engineer
About the Role
Orient Lighting is seeking an innovative Electronics / PCB Design Engineer at its manufacturing facility in Lahore. The engineer will design, route, and prototype electronic circuits and printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for high-efficiency commercial and residential LED lighting products and smart power drivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and simulate analog and digital electronic circuits, SMPS LED drivers, and power conversion layouts.
- Design multilayer PCB schematics, component placement, and trace routing using Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle.
- Fabricate circuit prototypes, assemble first-run surface mount components, and test electrical performance.
- Troubleshoot hardware failures, thermal dissipation issues, electromagnetic interference (EMI/EMC), and ripple noise.
- Generate Bill of Materials (BOM), Gerber manufacturing files, and assembly drawings for high-volume SMT production lines.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- BS / BE in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics with valid PEC registration.
- 2 to 4 years of proven hands-on experience in electronic circuit design and multilayer PCB layout.
- Proficiency in electronic design automation (EDA) software such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or KiCad.
- Deep understanding of electronic components, power electronics, SMPS topology, and testing equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and collaborative product engineering skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct design experience in LED lighting drivers, constant current controllers, or smart IoT lighting.
- Knowledge of international safety and EMI/EMC compliance certifications (IEC / CE / UL).
