Executive – IP Core Configuration Management
About the Role
CMPak (Zong 4G) is hiring an Executive – IP Core Configuration Management at its Headquarters in Islamabad. The engineer will maintain 99.999% availability of the nationwide IP/MPLS core transmission network, execute major network cutovers, and implement Quality of Service (QoS) for mission-critical cellular traffic.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage operations and configuration management of nationwide IP/MPLS core transmission networks, targeting 99.999% uptime.
- Implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies and traffic engineering for mission-critical 4G/5G mobile voice and data services.
- Finalize Low-Level Designs (LLD) and Methods of Procedure (MOP) for network swap activities, hardware upgrades, and cutovers.
- Coordinate with OEM vendors (Huawei, Cisco, ZTE) and regional transmission teams to resolve emergency network anomalies.
- Monitor vital MPLS core KPIs, perform preventive health checks, and execute DCN routing and Datacom NMS configurations.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related networking field.
- Up to 3 years of hands-on experience in IP/MPLS core network operations and datacom configuration management.
- Deep understanding of routing and switching protocols including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VLANs, and Layer 2/3 VPNs.
- Experience with carrier-grade routing hardware (Huawei, Cisco, ZTE).
- Strong analytical mindset, fast troubleshooting under pressure, and valid PEC registration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, HCIA, or HCIP Datacom.
- Familiarity with FTTH architecture, DNS/CDN configurations, and cellular packet core (PS Core) integration.
