Inspector Customs & Intelligence
About the Role
Directly inspect commercial freight, verify tariff classifications, detect customs duty evasion, and facilitate legitimate import/export clearance at dry ports and international airports.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine cargo documentation, bills of entry, and shipping declarations for accuracy.
- Conduct surprise checks and antismuggling operations under the Customs Act.
- Prepare charge sheets, seizure memos, and present evidence before Customs Adjudication.
- Coordinate with airport security, border authorities, and port maritime officials.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Second Class or Grade 'C' Bachelor's Degree with Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Physics, or Math.
- Minimum physical standards: Height 5'6" (Male) / 5'2" (Female); Chest 32"-33.5" for males.
- Age: 20 — 28 years (plus 5-year general age relaxation).
