About the Role
Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), Pakistan's premier agricultural development bank, is hiring a seasoned legal authority as Head Corporate & Service Law Matter Department (VP / VP-I) in Islamabad. The executive leads legal risk management, superior court litigation, and corporate contracting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Corporate & Service Law Department, formulating strategic legal risk mitigation frameworks across bank operations.
- Analyze superior court judgments and State Bank of Pakistan / SECP directives, recommending policy amendments to senior management.
- Oversee service law matters relating to employees, including service rules, employment contracts, NIRC cases, and departmental inquiries.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex corporate contracts, vendor MoUs, loan syndications, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Direct countrywide litigation strategy in coordination with 31 Legal Litigation Units (LLUs) across High Courts and specialized tribunals.
- Maintain an updated compendium of banking laws, prudential regulations, and agricultural credit jurisprudence.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Minimum LLB degree (LLM preferred) from an HEC-recognized national or international university.
- Minimum 10 years of post-qualification legal experience, with extensive exposure to banking law, service regulations, and corporate litigation.
- Advocate of High Court with active Bar Council membership.
- Deep understanding of SBP Prudential Regulations, Banking Companies Ordinance, Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finances) Act, and NIRC laws.
- Maximum age limit up to 50 years on closing date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Laws (LLM) in Corporate or Commercial Law.
- Prior experience heading legal departments in commercial banks or development finance institutions.
