Head of Technical Department – Operations
About the Role
Sindbad's Wonderland Pvt Ltd, a flagship subsidiary of Dolmen Group, is hiring a seasoned Head of Technical Department (Operations) based in Karachi. The role has complete engineering oversight for arcade systems, amusement rides, bowling equipment, electrical distribution, and preventive maintenance across North and South facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the installation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of arcade machines, rides, and entertainment attractions.
- Ensure maximum uptime and flawless mechanical/electrical safety standards across all Sindbad family entertainment centers.
- Formulate technical budgets, control spare parts inventories, and negotiate maintenance contracts with overseas manufacturers.
- Lead technical setup and engineering readiness for new location openings, rides commissioning, and layout upgrades.
- Oversee safety audits, daily inspection checklists, risk assessments, and emergency electrical contingency protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 5 years of senior managerial experience overseeing technical operations in Family Entertainment Centers (FECs), amusement parks, or heavy electromechanical facilities.
- Deep technical mastery of electromechanical systems, arcade logic boards, pneumatic/hydraulic controls, and power distribution.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing large teams of field technicians and engineers.
- Strategic vendor management and spare parts import logistics capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct technical operations experience with international amusement rides manufacturers (e.g., Zamperla, SBF Visa, Intamin).
- Formal certification in Health & Safety (NEBOSH/OSHA) or international ride safety standards (ASTM/EN).
