Heavy Equipment Operator (Excavator / Grader / Crane)
About the Role
Frontier Works Organization (FWO), under 662 Light Engineer Battalion, is hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for the mega Reko Diq Copper-Gold Mining Project in Chagai, Balochistan. The role operates heavy hydraulic excavators, graders, dumpers, and mobile cranes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy earthmoving machinery including 30T-50T hydraulic excavators, motor graders, dump trucks, or mobile cranes safely.
- Perform precision bench excavation, trenching, road grading, material loading, and site leveling for mine infrastructure.
- Execute pre-operational safety inspections, verifying engine oil levels, hydraulic fluids, track tension, and braking systems.
- Follow mining haul road rules, spotter signals, and strict radio communication protocols in active mining and quarry areas.
- Report mechanical faults, hydraulic leaks, and structural wear to field maintenance workshops immediately.
- Comply with stringent open-pit mining safety standards, PPE guidelines, and zero-accident environmental directives.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Matriculation certificate or Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE).
- Valid Pakistani Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) driving license.
- Minimum 5–8 years of verifiable operating experience on heavy earthmoving machinery (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, or Sany).
- Demonstrated skill handling heavy excavators, graders, or mobile cranes in challenging mountainous or mining terrains.
- Physical fitness and endurance to work in remote camp environments with rotational leave schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ex-military engineers (EME / Engineers Corps) or seasoned infrastructure machinery operators.
- Third-party heavy machinery operator competency certification.
