About the Role
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), apex regulator of Pakistan's capital markets and corporate sector, invites high-caliber legal minds for the position of Joint Director (Prosecution & Civil Litigation). The role commands high-stakes corporate prosecution, regulatory enforcement, and representation before High Courts and appellate tribunals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil and criminal prosecutions regarding corporate fraud, insider trading, market manipulation, and financial white-collar crimes.
- Represent the Commission before High Courts, Special Courts, and statutory appellate tribunals across Pakistan.
- Draft comprehensive pleadings, appeals, constitutional writ responses, and regulatory enforcement orders.
- Render sound legal opinions to operational divisions on statutory compliance under the Securities Act 2015 and Companies Act 2017.
- Coordinate with investigative authorities, public prosecutors, and external legal counsel on complex litigation cases.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- LL.B. or LL.M. degree from an HEC-recognized national or foreign university.
- Enrolled Advocate of the High Court for at least 8 years with an active and unblemished litigation practice.
- Minimum 10 years of post-qualification legal experience, with proven expertise in corporate, banking, or white-collar criminal litigation.
- Maximum age limit of 45 years as of the closing date (5-year relaxation available for regulatory experience).
- Deep practical mastery of corporate law, administrative law, civil procedure, and financial regulatory statutes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bar-at-Law (Barrister) or specialized Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Corporate / Commercial Law.
- Prior institutional experience serving in a legal counsel or prosecution capacity at an apex economic regulator.
