Junior Legal Counsel
About the Role
Alfalah Asset Management Limited (AAML) is seeking a proactive Junior Legal Counsel at its Karachi Head Office. The counsel assists in drafting commercial agreements, reviewing technology contracts, ensuring SECP regulatory compliance, and advising mutual fund operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, vendor agreements, software licensing, and NDA documents.
- Advise fund management teams on SECP Non-Banking Finance Companies (NBFC) regulations and mutual fund directives.
- Review trust deeds, offering documents, and constitutive documents for collective investment schemes.
- Support corporate governance documentation, board resolutions, and statutory filings with the SECP.
- Assist in managing legal disputes, coordinating with external legal counsels, and maintaining litigation schedules.
- Conduct legal research on emerging digital financial regulations, data protection guidelines, and contract law.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from an accredited university (local or foreign).
- 1–3 years of corporate legal experience in an asset management company, financial institution, or corporate law firm.
- Active license to practice as an Advocate with the Bar Council.
- Sound knowledge of Companies Act 2017, NBFC Rules 2003, and SECP Regulations.
- Strong legal drafting, analytical thinking, and verbal negotiation abilities in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- LL.M. in Corporate / Commercial Law.
- Familiarity with fintech partnerships and digital wealth management compliance.
