Lab Officer - Food Chemistry & QC
About the Role
K&N's Pakistan is hiring a Lab Officer (Food Chemistry & QC) at its state-of-the-art Food Processing Plant on Raiwind Road, Lahore. The officer conducts chemical testing on poultry products, raw seasonings, and enforces strict HACCP food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct physical, chemical, and nutritional testing of raw materials, poultry meat, seasonings, and finished food products.
- Perform analytical testing including moisture analysis, fat extraction, protein determination (Kjeldahl), and pH measurements.
- Execute testing in strict compliance with validated laboratory SOPs, sampling plans, and ISO 17025 protocols.
- Prepare and maintain accurate analytical test records, chemical certificates of analysis (COA), and batch release logs.
- Calibrate laboratory testing instruments, maintain reagent inventories, and enforce chemical safety standards.
- Assist quality assurance teams during internal hygiene audits and third-party food safety certifications.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or Food Science & Technology from an accredited university.
- 1–2 years of hands-on laboratory testing experience in the food, poultry processing, or beverage industry.
- Solid knowledge of analytical laboratory techniques, titration, spectrophotometry, and proximate food analysis.
- Familiarity with HACCP, ISO 22000, and Halal food manufacturing guidelines.
- High attention to detail, precision recording, and readiness to work plant shift rotations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automated meat analyzer instruments (FOSS FoodScan).
- Residence in Lahore with convenient access to Raiwind Road.
