Manager / AVP Pre & Commercial Audit
About the Role
House Building Finance Company Limited (HBFC) is hiring a Manager / AVP – Pre & Commercial Audit in Karachi to review commercial housing finance portfolios, pre-disbursement controls, and credit compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pre-disbursement and post-disbursement audits of commercial housing loans and consumer mortgage portfolios
- Verify legal title documents, property valuation appraisals, mortgage deeds, and charge registrations against SBP regulations
- Review commercial credit underwriting approvals, sanction terms, and compliance with HBFC credit policy manuals
- Identify operational risks, documentation exceptions, and procedural gaps, recommending corrective mitigation steps
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present quarterly audit summaries to the Board Audit Committee
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or professional certification (CA Inter / ACCA / ACMA / CIA)
- 5 to 8 years of post-qualification banking audit or credit risk management experience in commercial banks or DFIs
- Deep understanding of mortgage financing, land title verification, collateral documentation, and SBP prudential regulations
- Strong analytical, investigative, and report writing capabilities
- High integrity and commitment to corporate governance in public financial institutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized audit background in real estate financing, commercial housing schemes, or consumer credit
