About the Role
Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) is hiring a Manager Bulk Carrier Chartering in Karachi to manage dry bulk vessel chartering, negotiate international freight fixtures, and optimize fleet revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct commercial chartering operations for PNSC's owned and chartered dry bulk carrier fleet globally
- Negotiate spot and time-charter fixtures, charter parties, freight rates, and demurrage terms with international charterers and shipbrokers
- Manage pre-fixture and post-fixture commercial activities, voyage estimations, and laytime calculations
- Analyze global dry bulk shipping markets (Baltic Dry Index, commodity shipping routes, bunker price trends) to maximize earnings
- Coordinate with fleet technical management, port agents, and P&I clubs to ensure smooth voyage execution
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Master Mariner (FG) with sailing experience in senior capacity and minimum 1 year of commercial dry bulk chartering shore experience, OR Master's degree with minimum 8 years of shore experience in dry bulk vessel commercial chartering
- Deep understanding of BIMCO standard contracts, charter party clauses (Gencon, NYPE), and maritime arbitration rules
- Proven commercial track record in dry bulk vessel trading, freight market analysis, and broker negotiations
- Maximum age limit up to 50 years
- Strong analytical, legal interpretation, and maritime commercial leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (MICS) certification
