About the Role
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) invites engineering experts for Manager Construction Engineering & Resilience (PPS-09) on contract in Islamabad to direct climate-resilient infrastructure and disaster mitigation engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical appraisals and engineering oversight for disaster-resilient infrastructure reconstruction projects nationwide
- Develop engineering standards and building codes for flood resistance, seismic resilience, and slope stability
- Supervise execution of retrofitting, emergency flood barriers, drainage restoration, and disaster shelter constructions
- Coordinate with provincial disaster management authorities (PDMAs), international donors, and military engineering units
- Monitor project milestones, technical compliance audits, and expenditure tracking under federal disaster relief funds
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Master's / Bachelor's (16 years) degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Disaster Engineering (PEC registered)
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of professional civil engineering experience in infrastructure construction, disaster recovery, or flood resilience
- In-depth knowledge of structural dynamics, flood risk mitigation, seismic building codes, and project management
- Strong leadership, cross-agency coordination, and disaster crisis response capabilities
- Maximum age limit up to 55 years; open merit quota
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with international development agencies (World Bank, ADB, UNDP) on disaster recovery infrastructure
