Manager – Imports & Customs Operations
About the Role
Shangrila Foods (Private) Limited is seeking a competent Manager – Imports at its Head Office in Karachi. The professional will direct end-to-end import operations, customs clearance, Letters of Credit (LC) issuance, and international vendor coordination for food-grade raw materials and packaging supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct end-to-end import operations for food raw materials, seasonings, packaging substrates, and industrial machinery.
- Oversee commercial import documentation, Letters of Credit (LC) opening, banking retirement, and marine insurance.
- Coordinate with customs clearing agents, shipping lines, and terminal authorities for swift container release at Karachi ports.
- Ensure adherence to Pakistan Customs tariffs, Import Policy Orders, SBP foreign exchange regulations, and Incoterms.
- Liaise with Plant Procurement, Quality, and Finance teams to maintain uninterrupted factory production runs.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (preferably Master's / MBA in Supply Chain or International Business) from a recognized university.
- 6 to 8 years of solid experience in import logistics, international procurement, and customs clearing operations.
- Thorough command of Pakistan Customs clearance procedures, WeBOC/PSW systems, and banking trade instruments.
- Maximum age of 35 years as of the application date.
- Strong proficiency in enterprise ERP systems (SAP preferred) and supply chain financial analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specific import management background in the FMCG, Food & Beverages, or chemical industry.
- Experience handling import food safety compliance (PSQCA / Department of Plant Protection / Punjab/Sindh Food Authorities).
