About the Role
Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, Government of the Punjab invites clinical specialists and retired professors for contractual appointments as Professor / Associate Professor in Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery at tertiary medical institutions across Punjab.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-volume complex invasive cardiac surgeries, interventional cardiology procedures, and clinical consultations.
- Deliver postgraduate clinical training and academic lectures to FCPS, MS, and MD resident medical doctors.
- Supervise tertiary intensive care units (ICUs), cardiac catheterization laboratories, and surgical operating suites.
- Lead clinical research studies, cardiac epidemiology audits, and publish findings in peer-reviewed medical journals.
- Oversee hospital clinical governance, patient safety protocols, and quality assurance in specialized cardiovascular care.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- MBBS with FCPS, MS, MD, or equivalent level-III postgraduate qualification recognized by PM&DC in the relevant specialty.
- Required post-qualification teaching and clinical experience as per PM&DC regulations for appointment as Professor or Associate Professor.
- Maximum age limit up to 65 years as of the closing date.
- Valid permanent registration with Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC).
- Proven record of published clinical research papers in PM&DC/HEC-indexed medical journals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship training from accredited international cardiovascular centers (FRCS, FACC, FSCAI).
- Prior institutional leadership as Head of Department in a major tertiary teaching hospital.
