Purchase Officer (Foam Segment)
About the Role
Master Group of Industries is hiring a Purchase Officer for its Foam Segment at Port Qasim, Karachi, to handle daily maintenance and operational purchases, vendor quotations, price negotiations, and inventory procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operational and maintenance procurement for mechanical, electrical, and sheet metal spare parts
- Source qualified industrial suppliers, float inquiries, obtain competitive quotations, and negotiate commercial terms
- Process purchase requisitions into formal purchase orders (POs) and follow up on timely factory deliveries
- Maintain purchase records, material delivery documentation, Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), and invoice approvals
- Coordinate with plant engineering, storekeepers, and accounts departments for seamless procurement operations
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain, or relevant field
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on procurement and purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Sound knowledge of industrial hardware, machine parts, electrical spares, and fabrication consumables
- Good negotiation, vendor development, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP inventory systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior purchasing experience in polyurethane foam, mattress, or chemical manufacturing facilities
