Rolling Stock Maintenance Supervisor (TXR / BS-14)
About the Role
Pakistan Railways Headquarters Office, Lahore is inviting applications for engagement of technical supervisory personnel in Carriage & Wagon and Mechanical Loco departments on contract. The role supervises rolling stock inspection, train examinations, and workshop repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily train examination, rolling stock maintenance, and safety inspections of passenger carriages and freight wagons.
- Inspect mechanical brake rigging, air brake systems, bogie wheelsets, and couplers to ensure zero defects before train departure.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance schedules at railway workshops, sheds, and marshalling yards.
- Lead technical maintenance crews and artisans, enforcing railway mechanical engineering manual standards.
- Document carriage inspection fitness certificates, repair worksheets, and track incident investigation logs.
- Enforce rigorous railway track safety, workshop occupational safety, and operational regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized technical board.
- Substantial hands-on experience in rolling stock repair, passenger carriage maintenance, or locomotive inspection.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Pakistan Railways Mechanical Manual, vacuum/air brake technology, and coach overhaul protocols.
- High standard of physical fitness and visual acuity suitable for railway operational environments.
- Maximum age limit up to 62 years on closing date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Retired Pakistan Railways supervisory staff (TXR / Foreman) with exemplary service records.
- Certified in ultrasonic axle testing or wheel profile measurements.
