Senior Drilling Geologist
About the Role
Frontier Works Organization (FWO) invites applications for Senior Drilling Geologist on contract in Balochistan to lead core drilling operations, geological logging, and subsurface mineral exploration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead diamond core drilling operations, rig positioning, and subsurface geotechnical drilling programs in Balochistan
- Perform detailed lithological, structural, and mineralogical core logging, core photography, and sample preservation
- Monitor drilling progress, penetration rates, core recoveries, and coordinate with rig contractors
- Supervise quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) protocols during sample preparation and analytical assay dispatch
- Prepare weekly geological drill reports, cross-sections, and composite subsurface borehole logs
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- BS or MS in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Earth Sciences from an HEC-recognized university
- 8 to 10 years of post-qualification experience in mineral exploration, core drilling, and field geological operations
- Hands-on expertise in diamond core logging, geotechnical rock mass characterization (RQD), and assay sampling
- Proficiency in geological modeling software and borehole database management
- High physical resilience and willingness to operate at remote exploration field camps in Balochistan
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on large-scale porphyry copper-gold or metallic mineral exploration projects in western Pakistan
