About the Role
EXIM Bank of Pakistan, the official Export Credit Agency (ECA) of the federal government, is hiring a Senior Manager Legal at its Head Office in Islamabad. The legal expert will structure international trade credit guarantees, export credit insurance policies, cross-border lending contracts, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documentation for export credit insurance, buyer credit guarantees, and trade financing facilities.
- Structure cross-border syndicated trade finance transactions, sovereign debt collateral agreements, and inter-creditor pacts.
- Render sound legal counsel to executive management on SBP prudential regulations, insurance ordinances, and WTO export credit rules.
- Manage external legal counsels, oversee recovery proceedings, and handle statutory dispute arbitrations.
- Ensure robust legal risk mitigation across international export credit instruments and reinsurance treaties.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- LL.B. degree from an HEC-recognized university with an active license as Advocate of the High Courts.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of post-qualification legal experience, with at least 5 years as an Advocate High Court.
- Extensive advisory and transactional legal experience within a commercial bank, development financial institution (DFI), or corporate law firm.
- Expert command of banking laws, international trade finance documentation (UCP 600 / ISP98), and corporate law.
- Superior legal drafting, analytical thinking, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- LL.M., Barrister-at-Law, or foreign law degree in International Commercial / Banking Law.
- Prior legal experience in Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) or multilateral financial institutions.
