Senior Software Engineer
About the Role
The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) is looking for talented Senior Software Engineers to develop and scale critical public sector digital applications and citizen-centric governance platforms at Arfa Software Technology Park, Lahore.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain high-concurrency enterprise web and mobile applications for provincial governance.
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented code following modern microservices and domain-driven design principles.
- Design efficient relational and NoSQL database schemas, queries, and automated data migration routines.
- Collaborate with solution architects, UI/UX designers, and QA teams to deliver robust digital public services.
- Optimize application performance, implement stringent cybersecurity measures, and conduct thorough peer code reviews.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Sixteen (16) years of education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field from an HEC-recognized university.
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of proven software engineering experience building scalable web applications.
- Strong proficiency in modern backend stacks (Node.js, Python/Django, .NET Core, or PHP/Laravel) and frontends (React/Next.js/Vue).
- Solid command of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server) and caching systems (Redis).
- Maximum age limit of 45 years with valid domicile of Punjab.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud services (AWS / Azure / GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Prior track record of developing large-scale public sector IT solutions or national e-governance systems.
