Senior Special Education Teacher - Hearing Impairment (BS-17)
About the Role
Special Education Department Government of the Punjab is hiring Senior Special Education Teachers (BS-17) under the School Teaching Interns (STI) policy to educate hearing-impaired children across government special education institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized educational instruction and curricula adapted for students with hearing impairment
- Utilize Pakistan Sign Language (PSL), auditory training techniques, and modern assistive learning technologies
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each special child's cognitive and sensory capabilities
- Counsel parents on child psychological development, communication techniques, and social inclusion
- Maintain student developmental progress records and prepare candidates for board examinations
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Master's degree or BS (4 years) in Special Education with specialization in Hearing Impairment from an HEC-recognized university
- Fluency in Pakistan Sign Language (PSL) and familiarity with specialized teaching methodologies for deaf students
- Dedicated, compassionate temperament with strong patience and classroom management skills
- Punjab domicile required
- Age Limit: 21 to 30 years (with standard government age relaxation admissible)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience in government special education centers or inclusive education schools
