About the Role
AAJ News is looking for a creative Social Media Executive in Karachi to create breaking news video clips, design engaging thumbnails, write Urdu digital content, and manage YouTube and social channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and publish engaging breaking news videos and bulletin cutdowns using Adobe Premiere Pro
- Design high-click-through thumbnails and social creatives using Adobe Photoshop according to channel brand guidelines
- Manage and optimize YouTube video metadata, descriptions, tags, and cards using YouTube Studio and SEO tools
- Write accurate, fast-paced news captions, headlines, and summaries in Urdu for digital social media platforms
- Monitor trending political and current affairs topics to produce timely, viral news content
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Digital Journalism, or related field
- 1 to 3 years of practical experience managing digital news channels or media house social platforms
- Hands-on proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop for rapid video editing and graphic design
- Strong understanding of YouTube SEO, thumbnail CTR dynamics, and social media analytics
- Exceptional Urdu typing and news writing skills with keen political and current affairs judgment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a 24/7 fast-paced television newsroom or digital media desk
