About the Role
The Information Department, Government of Sindh, announces recruitment for Stenographers (BPS-14) in Karachi to provide official shorthand transcription, press release drafting, and confidential secretarial assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Take rapid English and Urdu shorthand dictations from senior departmental officers and transcribe accurately
- Type official press releases, government notifications, ministerial speeches, and departmental summaries
- Maintain confidential filing systems, incoming and outgoing official correspondence, and meeting records
- Manage scheduling, protocol arrangements, and official communications with media representatives and secretariats
- Ensure efficient office automation and digital file archiving using MS Office applications
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (at least 2nd Division) from an HEC-recognized university
- Minimum 6 months certificate in Shorthand and English Typing from an institute recognized by SBTE
- Minimum shorthand speed of 120 words per minute (w.p.m.) and computer typing speed of 35 w.p.m.
- Certificate in MS Office from an SBTE-recognized institution
- Age Limit: 21 to 28 years; Domicile and PRC of Sindh Province
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior secretarial or stenography experience in government secretariats, media departments, or judiciary
