Taxation & Accounts Officer (Aviation Ground Services)
About the Role
Gerry's dnata, the leading provider of airport ground handling and cargo services in Pakistan, is hiring a Taxation & Accounts Officer at its Karachi Office. The role manages corporate taxation, sales tax on services (SRB), withholding tax reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage corporate tax compliance, preparing monthly withholding tax statements and sales tax returns on FBR and SRB portals.
- Reconcile general ledger tax accounts against computerized payment receipts (CPRs) and verified tax challans.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors and tax consultants, compiling documentary evidence for annual tax assessments.
- Verify vendor invoices for proper tax deductions, sales tax invoices, and active taxpayer status.
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing financial statements, monthly closing schedules, and tax provision entries.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's / Master's in Commerce, Accounting & Finance OR ACCA / ICMA part-qualified.
- 2 to 5 years of solid corporate taxation and accounting experience.
- Deep understanding of Income Tax Ordinance, Sales Tax on Services, and FBR/SRB electronic filing portals.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and corporate ERP financial modules.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict statutory deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior accounting or taxation experience in the aviation, logistics, or transport services industry.
- Experience with computerized tax audits and corporate legal appeals.
