Deputy Manager - Electrical & Electronics
About the Role
Soorty Enterprises is hiring a Deputy Manager - Electrical & Electronics at its denim manufacturing facilities in Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi. The engineer manages high-voltage electrical distribution, captive gas generators, industrial chillers, and energy management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete electrical power distribution systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, and motor control centers (MCC).
- Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of gas generators (Jenbacher/Caterpillar), air compressors, and centrifugal chillers.
- Supervise electrical engineering teams and automation technicians across spinning, weaving, and denim finishing lines.
- Lead electrical modernization projects, solar PV integration, and industrial energy efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure uninterrupted power quality, harmonic filtering, and adherence to electrical safety and NFPA codes.
- Manage electrical spare parts inventory, technical vendor contracts, and annual statutory power audits.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- B.E. / B.Sc. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a PEC-recognized institution.
- 7–10 years of electrical engineering leadership experience in composite textile, denim, or heavy manufacturing plants.
- Expertise in power generation systems, medium-voltage switchgear, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and PLCs.
- Demonstrated leadership managing large maintenance teams in high-pressure manufacturing operations.
- Valid registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential.
- Experience with industrial automation (Siemens S7, SCADA) and rooftop solar installations.
