About the Role
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is seeking an executive technology leader as General Manager – IT Technology Strategy & Engineering to drive enterprise architecture, cloud transformation, and technology governance for the national flag carrier.
Key Responsibilities
- Define enterprise technology direction, multi-year IT roadmaps, and digital modernization strategies across airline divisions.
- Architect high-availability enterprise infrastructure, hybrid cloud environments, and core airline software integrations.
- Govern IT capital and operational expenditure budgets, vendor SLAs, and software licensing frameworks.
- Lead technology evaluation, procurement negotiations, and system implementation for critical airline operational systems.
- Ensure alignment with IATA technology standards, civil aviation regulatory requirements, and business resilience goals.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Master's or Bachelor's degree (16/18 years) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems.
- Minimum 12 to 15 years of progressive technology leadership experience with at least 5 years in enterprise architecture or IT strategy.
- Deep expertise in cloud architectures, microservices, enterprise service bus (ESB), and mission-critical 24/7 high-availability systems.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, technology budgeting, and executive leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior technology leadership experience in commercial aviation, transportation, or large-scale travel distribution systems.
