About the Role
Ministry of Railways (Pakistan Railways) is inviting applications for Project Manager - Software under the Federal Management Pay Scale (MP-III) to direct digital ticketing, freight tracking, and operational automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, software architecture, and rollout of Pakistan Railways digital transformation projects nationwide.
- Direct the enhancement of the e-ticketing platform, automated train scheduling systems, and freight ERP modules.
- Coordinate with external software development vendors, system integrators, and railway divisional heads.
- Formulate technical software specifications, RFP documentation, and quality assurance benchmarks for system deployments.
- Monitor project milestones, budget burn rates, and ensure compliance with federal IT policies and cyber security guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Data Sciences with 3 years experience, OR Master's (18 years) with 5 years experience in Project/Program Management.
- Demonstrated expertise managing enterprise software engineering projects, agile methodologies, and high-volume transaction portals.
- Maximum age limit: 62 years.
- Thorough knowledge of database systems, API integrations, and cloud infrastructure management.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile Scrum Master certification.
