Senior Officer - Mechanical Technician
About the Role
Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) is hiring a Senior Officer - Mechanical Technician at its Bulk Oil Terminal in Rawalpindi. The technician performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on petroleum storage tanks, product pipelines, pumps, and gantry loading systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on petroleum storage tanks, pipeline valves, and gantry loading pumps.
- Conduct routine inspections of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, flow meters, and decanting equipment.
- Perform mechanical repairs on pipe fittings, mechanical seals, strainers, and emergency shutdown valves (ESDV).
- Maintain firefighting water pumps, foam delivery systems, and terminal safety deluge networks.
- Maintain maintenance logbooks, equipment service histories, and spare parts inventory registers.
- Adhere strictly to oil & gas HSE standards, hot work permits, confined space entry rules, and terminal safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized technical board.
- 3–6 years of mechanical maintenance experience at a petroleum terminal, oil refinery, chemical terminal, or LPG plant.
- Strong technical knowledge of pumps, alignment, mechanical seals, piping systems, and API storage tanks.
- Familiarity with permit-to-work (PTW) systems and safety procedures for hazardous petroleum environments.
- Physical fitness, mechanical agility, and willingness to respond to operational emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in vibration analysis or laser shaft alignment.
- Firefighting and emergency response training from civil defense or oil marketing companies.
